MOMENT

Fresh from success at the Bush Theatre in London, Moment is a thrilling new play by one of Ireland’s most celebrated new playwrights.

On a seemingly ordinary evening, an Irish family sits down to tea. The difference tonight is that Nial is home -- back from prison having committed a dark crime many years earlier with some news to share and a conscience to clear.

Fast, witty and frighteningly real, Moment takes you on a journey through trauma wrapped up in tablecloths and teacake.

"Elegant and assured" -- The Irish Times

"offers one of most quietly shattering evenings in the theatre that I have experienced… Go." -- Independent

“I recommend that you head to the invaluable Bush Theatre for Moment by the Irish dramatist Deirdre Kinahan… the play is brought to gripping dramatic life by director David Horan and a superb ensemble…And the whole play comes over like a shattering Greek tragedy, served up with cups of tea and slices of quiche" -- Telegraph

"The wonder of Deirdre Kinahan’s play is that she places her tale of trauma in a recognisable domestic context in which rage and disaster co-exist with biscuits and small talk…Horan’s vivid staging also has strong acting" -- Times

"David Horan's gripping production…a powerful and original play that deserves to prosper" -- British Theatre Guide
