Private Lives Wed 25 June - Sat 12 July @ 8pm By Noel Coward Directed by Mary Curtin Presented by Proscenium Production Tickets €25 / €20 / €7 mon - wed
Neil Coward's hilarious look at high-infidelity... | |
Amanda and Elyot are reunited five years after their divorce in a romantic French hotel. Unfortunately, they’re each there on honeymoon with a new spouse. The old flame quickly flickers anew between the divorcees as they recall why they were once in love, and every bit as vividly, why they split. Thus begins their stylish love-hate tango as Coward's classic comedy ignites with bright and bruising dialogue. Noel Coward’s singular gift for dialogue is perfectly encapsulated in this witty play. Written in just four days, Private Lives recalls the glamour and elegance of the 1930’s. Noel Coward was a much imitated actor, writer, composer, lyricist and painter. His celebrity and success reached its peak with Private Lives, in which he played the lead role of Elyot in the original production. Directed by Mary Curtin designed by Jim Queally Cast includes Joy Buckle, Ian McGuirk and Michael Murphy.
